The Ultra Violet radiation emission from the Osram Dulux S 9W/78 or Phillips PL-S 9W/10 has been analyzed by a radiation board. It was found that the emission spectrum is confined to the UV-A and is low powered, so the hazard is almost non-existent. Comparisons done with the Occupational Exposure Standard for Ultraviolet Radiation of the National Health and Medical Research Council, indicated that it would take hundreds of hours to exceed the allowed limits: so a few minutes exposure are not a problem. |
